BACK

Using smaller needles, with A, CO 61 (65, 71, 75) sts.

Row 1 (RS): P
Row 2 (WS): K
Row 3: P
Row 4: K

Change to color B.

Row 5: K
Row 6: P
Row 7: P
Row 8: K
Row 9: P
Row 10: K

Change to color C.

Rows 11–16: Rep rows 5–10.

Change to larger needles and MC and work in st st until piece measures 6½" (8", 9½", 11") from beg.

Work 30 rows of chart. Continue with MC in st st until piece measures 16" (18", 20", 22"). BO all sts.

Front

Work as for back until piece measures 14" (16", 18", 20"), ending with a WS row.

Shape front neck: K24 (26, 29, 31) sts. Place rem sts on holder.

Continuing in st st, BO 2 sts at neck edge every other row 4 times — 16 (18, 21, 23) sts. Work even until same length as back. BO.

Return held sts to needle. BO center 13 sts. Continuing in st st, BO 2 sts at neck edge every other row 4 times — 16 (18, 21, 23) sts. Work even until same length as back. BO.

Sleeves

Using smaller needles and color A, CO 29 (31, 35, 37) sts. Work 16 rows of border as for back. Change to larger needles and MC and work in st st, inc 1 st at beg and end of every 4th row 17 (18, 19, 20) times — 63 (67, 73, 77) sts. Continue without shaping until piece measures 13" (14", 16", 17") from beg. BO.

Finishing

Sew front to back at shoulders.

Neckband
Using 16" circular needle and MC, beg at right shoulder seam, pick up and K 31 sts across back neck, 14 sts down left front neck, 13 sts at center front neck, and 14 sts up right front neck — 72 sts. Place marker to indicate beg of round.

Round 1: K

Change to color C.

Round 2: K
Rounds 3–6: P
Round 7: K

Change to color B.

Rounds 8–13: Rep rounds 2–7.

Change to color A.

Rounds 14–19: Rep rounds 2–7.

BO loosely.

Sew sleeves to sides, matching center of sleeve to shoulder seam.

Sew side and sleeve seams.

Weave in ends and block to finished measurements.
